Fort Valley State University (FVSU) is a public HBCU and Georgia’s 1890 land-grant institution, founded in 1895 in Fort Valley. One of only two 1890 land-grant HBCUs in Georgia, FVSU enrolls 2,800 students and is known for agriculture, veterinary technology, nursing, and education programs in the heart of Georgia’s peach country.
