The United States Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point) is a federal service academy established in 1943 in Kings Point, Long Island, New York. Kings Point is one of the five US federal service academies and the only one focused on maritime and transportation. All tuition, room, and board are funded by the federal government in exchange for service in the US Merchant Marine and/or US military. The Academy enrolls approximately 1,000 midshipmen.
