The State University of New York College of Optometry (SUNY Optometry) is the only public college of optometry in New York State, founded in 1971 and located in Midtown Manhattan across from Bryant Park. SUNY Optometry offers the Doctor of Optometry (OD), MS, and PhD degrees and operates the University Eye Center — one of the busiest optometric clinics in the United States, providing eye care to over 80,000 patients annually. The college enrolls approximately 300 students.
